The JacTravel Graduate Training scheme is an exciting opportunity for two bright and enthusiastic graduates to gain first-hand experience of a successful, B2B travel company.

How the JacTravel Graduate Scheme works


  • Two-year management training scheme.
  • 6 x 4-month placements in:
    • B2B Hotels Sales & Account Development
    • B2B Hotels Contracting and Content
    • B2B Hotels Operations and Yield
    • Groups Sales & Account Development
    • Groups Buying
    • Groups Customer Delivery.

Training & development

  • A mix of on-the-job learning opportunities and formal training and development is provided.

Supervision & assessment

  • Supervisors in each participating department will take responsibility for the day-to-day management of the graduate trainee – as per a thorough learning programme.
  • A mentor (a Director or Senior Manager) will be assigned to each graduate on a one-year rotation. The mentor’s role will be to offer valuable ongoing advice on career goals and how best to achieve them.
  • Workplace skills will include: project management, decision making, negotiation, and communication skills across many of the business units. Specific checklists of key learning/application outcomes will be used to assess progress and ensure adequate experience is offered and what support is required.
  • Regular, positive feedback, implementing set checkpoints for salary increases and providing suitable challenges help to create a mutually beneficial relationship.

On completion of the Graduate Training Scheme

  • Each graduate will be placed in a role that best suits their skills and attributes.  
  • For example: a junior management role may be presented, with the opportunity to fulfil the candidate’s potential by progressing quickly throughout the organisation. The speed and direction will largely be determined by the graduate’s willingness and ability.

Successful candidates should have these attributes

  • Commercially minded and strong business acumen.
  • Positive, can-do attitude.
  • Immersive personality.
  • Able to work on own initiative as well as part of a team.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good time management.
  • Desire to continue training.
  • Strong understanding of the tourism sector.
  • Tourism, Business Management, or related degree (preferably a 2:1 or above).
  • Graduated in the last two years or by the start of the programme.
  • Fluency in another language in addition to English (desirable).
