JacTravel’s deal strengthens its hand in Latin America

7 May 2015

Last month, JacTravel, the leading B2B hotel accommodation wholesaler and provider of inbound travel services, acquired The TotalStay Group, a major accommodation provider to wholesale, retail and consumer markets.  In doing so, it increased the number of directly contracted hotels on offer to the South American market to over 15,000 in 2,000 cities globally.

Terry Williamson, JacTravel’s CEO said: “Thanks to the TotalStay acquisition, our portfolio is significantly larger.  In Europe, for example, which is a major destination for Brazilians, we can offer 2,500 more directly-contracted hotels than we could a month ago; in the USA, we are close to 3,000 directly contracted properties.  That amounts to much more choice for our clients and, owing to the combined buying power from the combination of both companies, ultimately better value for the traveller.”

JacTravel’s acquisition of TotalStay created a new entity, with combined sales of £360m, which now ranks in the top handful of travel wholesalers worldwide. Both companies have grown rapidly in recent years and since 2012, they have, between them, been featured five times in various rankings of the UK’s fastest growing companies by the Sunday Times newspaper.  JacTravel and TotalStay have also been recognised with awards for customer service and for excellence as a partner by different hotel chains.

JacTravel sees around 40% of its Latin American clientele travelling to the USA, 25% to Europe, 25% to South America and 10% to the rest of the world.

Visitors to WTM Latin America can meet Terry and other senior JacTravel executives on its stand, N83.
